“Why can’t I get rid of this fat?”

“What, exactly, is Liposuction?”

The basic technique is fairly simple: fat is removed using a hollow metal tube that’s passed through the fatty tissue. SAL, or suction-assisted liposuction employs a pump that generates a vacuum. This is one of the most common forms of liposuction. Power-assisted liposuction involves attaching a motor to the metal tube, which causes it to vacillate back and forth, in essence doing the work of liposuction. Ultrasonic generators and lasers can also be utilized to break down fat cells.

As with every surgery, there will be some swelling and bruising. This is normal…and temporary…so don’t worry. You’ll be given detailed instructions after your procedure and we’re always here when you have a question or concern.

There are a few things you’ll want to consider. Since Liposuction actually reduces your size, be prepared to do some shopping after your recovery is complete! There will probably be a period of readjustment and a little shift in fashion taste. Don’t be surprised if you become tempted to wear styles you’ve avoided in the past.
